Welcome!
pdoug2

I’m Pastor Doug Sewell, of All Saints Community Church in Cortland, Ohio. I want to welcome you to my blog. I post a new article to it 2-3 times a week. You can track updates on Twitter.

I have been a member of All Saints almost from its beginning, and served as a deacon for ten years. During this time, Rev. Tom, Pastor Jamie and Pastor Rob all recognized my call to ministry. Rob recommended I be named associate pastor in November 2007, and we started the process towards my ordination.

In November, 2008, a committee interviewed me, reviewed my ordination paper, and recommended we go forward. I was ordained into ministry on January 4, 2009.

After Rob’s unexpected resignation, the Official Board has named me Interim Pastor on March 1, 2009. A congregational vote on a permanent call will be held in the future.

My message is Biblical and positive, focusing on what Jesus Christ taught us, what He did for us, and how He can change our lives and use us. I encourage people to live the Great Commandment (Luke 10:27) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), and be what God made us to be – his children, ambassadors and representatives in this earth.

I don’t hold to a specific theological or denominational camp – my church background includes the United Methodist church, charismatic and Word of Faith churches. I have been influenced by A. W. Tozer, Bill Johnson (Bethel Church), Bill Hamon (Christian International), Kenneth Copeland, and Kenneth Hagin. I have been taking classes at Eagle Christian College since 2004.

This blog is NOT an official communication of All Saints, although I will probably make announcements or commentary from time to time here.
